Toto, I've Got a Feeling We're Not In Kansas Anymore
Notice something new about Mind of a Millennial?
Is it the bright colors? Or maybe the sidebar changed? I don't remember seeing this group of small men on here before. Welcome to the new version of my blog. I'm a perfectionist and didn't think the old blog was:
A.) User friendly enough and;
B.) Modern and up to date with current blogs.
Seeing as with this post I've now successfully been blogging for a month, it seemed like a good time to do the revamp I've been thinking of since I launched the blog, however, this design is here to stay. I hope you're here to stay as well!
So let's get going and talk about some of the new features I hope to provide with this change.
Greasing the Hinges
Just like Tin Man, the old site was slow, really slow to work. I was never happy with how long it took to load and I heard from friends the same thing. Even on mobile it was taking ages. Thanks to a lit bit of oil (and fewer images) this blog should load nice and fast so you can go from post to post as you read it all afternoon.
As I add more features I'll be keeping an eye on speed as slow loading is in my opinion unacceptable when it comes to providing my readers with a quality blog to read.
Stepping Out from Behind the Curtain
I spend a lot of time working on the blog but don't let it fool you; I still love talking to people, especially my audience to hear what they think. Now with an e-mail form on every page, feel free to send me a message! I will always try to respond within 48 hours as my readers mean the world to me.
So go ahead and draw the curtain on this wizard (just not while I'm in the shower).
Speaking of e-mail, flick your wand, cast a spell and subscribe to my new mailing list. Currently I can't tell you how much I'll be sending out, to give you an idea it will be less than twice a week and more than once a month, only time will tell on this mystery.
The goal is to communicate more with readers so as I said, use those contact forms as much as you like, even if it is just to chat.
Because I know You've Got a Brain
Thankfully, I know my readers have got brains, unlike Scarecrow.
So let that brain be loud and post in the new Facebook connected comments. Not only will you be helping me test the feature, I'd love to hear what those brains of yours are thinking.
Discussion is always encouraged on posts and feedback helps me grow, so comment away and put those brains to use!
Don't Let Your Eyes Grow Heavy
When you're reading my blog, the last thing I want is for you to feel like you've been walking through a field of poppies.
With more GIFs and images in the posts I hope to keep you entertained and keep the post tied together a little better. I'll try not to use too many though!
Farewell Old Blog
And so here, we are. A blogger and his readers, and a brand new site. The old site I'll miss as it was my first project of the sort, but here's to a new blog full of beautiful colors and features. More features will come and some will go but I'm sure that this version is here to stay.
And a note to the new blog...
